In total we spent about 5 hours ferrying around city and out to Sandy Hook on the Jersey shores this weekend. Firstly on friday i got out of work a little early and went up to the 42nd St peirs and jumped on the 3hr Circle line ferry ride around Manhattan. it was fun and we had a few beers... the air was hell hazy from a weird weather system, humid and really f'ing hot. infact the whole weekend was a scorcher.... a little wacko. dinner at harry's burrito in the Village. yummmm.
Saturday alicia & I went down to the peirs at walls street and just managed to get on a ferry out to Sandy hook. we had great plans to explore the area but it was so hot and we got stuck on the beach....once again the water was dubious and a little too Atlantic like. after some crossword action and reading about paris, nicole, jen, ang and brad it was almost 4 and we had to get ready and leave to get on the last ferry back to the city. we stood out on ferry rooftop and tried to makeout the mainland through the haze. so far, far rockaway is the best value for $$$... gonna try jones beach and i hear reece beach is ok too. summer is quickly running out of time and then it's the long haul through the cold months. a few of the outdoor shows have wound up already, but last thursday night A & I went to see a free movie under the brooklyn bridge and that was cool fun and what we (and most other) call a "new york moment". Yesterday morning we did SFA, except for brunch and a walk through Fort Greene. Went to JC's for an all meat barbie. Yay for meat. then it rained and now the city is cooler.

It's hard to get a sense of how hot it is over there - is it?? It looks hazy... NYC looks sweets though, better than soggy grey perth right now!
well saturday when we went to the beach it was 99ºF so that is around 37ºC and with humidity and not much breeze etc it ends up being a bit like a sauna.
Hey Mate, where's the new post?
